Our wallets are made from carefully selected cowhide that is either ecologically mineral or vegetable tanned for quality and environmental awareness. Authentic and durable, they embody timeless charm in a variety of designs and leather colors. Our leather has a natural beauty and patina that develops over time and makes each piece even more individual. Each piece of leather is unique due to natural characteristics such as grain and structure.

But beauty is not everything:

leather is naturally known for its durability and longevity. It is also a very flexible material that can be bent easily without losing its strength. This is what makes it so valuable for the manufacture of wallets, which are often opened and refolded many times a day.

From leather to wallet - this is how we manufacture the small accessories

The production of leather wallets at werktat begins with the selection of high-quality leather pieces. The leather must also be used in the right thickness so that the overall product is not too thick, bulky or unwieldy. We then cut the tanned hide into the required shapes. This requires precision to ensure that the parts fit correctly. To achieve this accuracy, we punch the small leather parts with laser-cut dies that we design digitally. The punched parts must also be shaped in such a way that the wallets remain as flat as possible. We then finish the wallets with the logo - in the right place, of course. The cut and finished leather pieces are then carefully sewn together. This requires both craftsmanship and high-quality sewing machines to ensure a clean seam.
