The sheep wool festival in Gronau is a vibrant festival under the motto "sheep and their wool". It was brought to life to focus on the regional importance of sheep's wool, because there are also countless sheep in the Bottwartal and in the Löwenstein mountains. The animals are important for landscape conservation, maintain the cultural landscape and produce - in addition to meat and milk - wool, of course. Visitors to the sheep wool festival learn a lot of informative facts about sheep farming and can experience different sheep breeds such as the "mouflon" for two days. Shepherds complement the experience with demonstrations such as sheep herding or sheep shearing. At over 100 market stalls you can buy products from artisans and sheep farmers: Felts, woven goods, sheepskins, accessories for sheep farming and wool processing, sheep cheese, lamb meat and much more. Enjoy the market on the banks of the still small Bottwar - with regional lamb and wine.
