Why do you need an additional protective case for an iPad with Smart Folio or Magic Keyboard Folio ?
As soon as you leave the house, you usually have not only the iPad with you, but also all the other important things you need on an office day or when you go out of the house, such as keys, wallet or water bottle including lunch box. And that all disappears together in one bag and rubs and clatters against each other when you carry it. For our products, we use the finest felt made in Germany from pure new wool, and strong, rustic leather for that special werktat look and feel. Our natural materials not only provide a quaint look, but are also particularly sustainable because they are biodegradable and do not pollute the environment with chemical fibers.
Basically, the thicker the better the protection. With thicker felts, the absorption of the force of a blow or fall is higher than with thinner ones. We have to make sure that the customer has good handling with the sleeve or case and that the felt can still be processed properly. The optimum felt thickness in terms of protection, handling, durability and processability is found at 3 millimeters material thickness. Felt with a thickness of 1.5 or 2 millimeters is simply not sufficient for the customer. Even a fleece that can be obtained very inexpensively does not meet these requirements. So when buying, pay attention to the often concealed quality feature felt thickness.
Wool felt is great for protecting iPads. The fiber composite of wool is softer and cushions much better than most felts made of plastic. Wool felt is very durable and robust: there is no pilling with the felts we use: the surfaces of the cases remain smooth and homogeneous, and the damping property is usually retained longer than the life of the iPads including accessories. Many plastic felts with a pleasant feel and look are no longer attractive after a short time and often become disheveled with many nodules. When buying, look for the quality feature 100% virgin wool.
This depends on the size and the material used. For simple felt sleeves, the weight - depending on the size - is only 180 to 220 grams. The higher the leather content, the heavier the case: this can be a weight - depending on the size of the iPad and the selected accessories - of 350 up to 600 grams.
